Everything you need to know about
Flotation
Floatation is an activity that combines wellness with wellbeing, stimulating physical, emotional, and psychological well-being, and in many cases becoming a transformative experience for the whole person. Decades of research and dozens of scientific studies support its effectiveness, with benefits ranging from reduced anxiety and stress, relief from chronic pain, and improved sleep, to stimulation of creativity and self-awareness. MORE:
In our sophisticated float chamber, the user floats effortlessly in a solution of water and Epsom salts (European pharmaceutical-grade magnesium sulfate salts), with a density greater than that of the Dead Sea. The water and air temperatures are the same as skin temperature, eliminating the barriers between the body and the environment and creating a sensation of total weightlessness.
Since the body doesn’t have to make any effort to support its own weight or maintain balance, and thanks to the well-known anti-inflammatory effects of magnesium, the muscles relax completely, the spine decompresses, and back, neck, and joint pain is relieved.
In our modern float chamber, the user has complete control of the session. It features a lid with LED lights that simulate a starry sky, as well as other underwater lights and speakers. You can float with the lid open or closed, listening to relaxing music, with the starry sky color of your choice from the equipment and the room’s LEDs, or in silence and darkness.
Although there are many typical or common experiences, each client responds differently according to their own physical and emotional needs. For some, the first time can be overwhelming, boring (exceptional cases), and almost always incredibly satisfying. Regardless of the variety of physical and emotional responses, it is always the case that the more you float, the better and deeper the experience becomes.
In our overstimulated society, it’s difficult to find the quiet, relaxing moments that are essential for the body and mind to recharge, heal, and detoxify. Our 50-minute sessions in the float tank allow you to reset your routine, leaving you with an unparalleled feeling of renewal, even for several days.
Comparative studies have shown that one flotation session is equivalent to more than 3 hours of deep sleep.
FAQ
After an introductory video, you’ll enter the float-tank private room. Before entering the tank, you’ll need to take a shower, and we ask that you remove all traces of soap, conditioner, perfume, or makeup. You’ll then float for 50 minutes. Afterward, you’ll take another quick shower to remove the Epsom salts from your body (your skin will feel incredibly soft!). We also have a separate area outside the room where you can dry your hair and finish getting ready. In total, you should consider approximately 1.5 hours for the entire session.
Our floatation room is private and includes the float-tank, a shower stall, and a changing area. You’re in control of the session, and if you don’t want to fully immerse yourself in the experience, you can enjoy floating with the lid open, using lights, and/or playing music or a guided meditation. Although floatation is a very safe and low-risk therapy, our float chamber also has a call button in case you need assistance from our staff.
We suggest you don’t immediately return to your routine, work, or driving, as you’ll leave the session extremely relaxed and will need several minutes to readjust. You can readjust to gravity in our reception area while enjoying a cup of tea, or simply tenjoying the stunning view of Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Just bring your swimsuit (not mandatory), and if you have long hair, it’s best to tie it up. If you wear contact lenses, we recommend removing them, so please bring your case. We provide a bath towel, a hand towel, earplugs (recommended for floating), and we have soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the showers.
Falling asleep in the float chamber is very safe; just be careful not to get water in your eyes, as it can sting a little, and the taste in your mouth isn’t pleasant. You can also choose to use a floating pillow to keep your head from turning over. Given the high density of the water, it’s very difficult to turn over, so the risk of drowning is cero. The level of the water is around 10-11 inches. And in the decades since this therapy has been available, no serious incidents have been documented.
The tank contains 350 kg of magnesium salts, and this high concentration makes it virtually impossible for any type of microorganism to survive. Furthermore, the tanks have a sophisticated filtration system through which the entire solution passes 3 to 5 times between sessions, guaranteeing that the water is pristine and crystal clear with each use. Additionally, two chemical sterilization processes are carried out every night to remove any remaining particles or organic matter. This rigorous sanitization protocol is the same as that required for float centers in Europe and the USA.
For all these reasons, floatation in our float-tank is infinitely more sterile and hygienic than any whirlpool or swimming pool. And… we are particularly demanding and meticulous with the cleaning and disinfection of the facility between each session.
Yes! Floating is a completely natural and side-effect-free way to relax, de-stress, and relieve pain and pressure in both body and mind. Most floaters report a greater sense of calm, increased well-being, and better sleep—all things that can sometimes be hard for expectant mothers to find.
Gravity becomes a relentless force as pregnancy progresses. The gradual and inevitable weight gain can really affect the spine, joints, and muscles. By the third trimester, even getting out of bed can be a struggle. Floating helps reduce swelling, cramps, and joint pain. And we already know that one floatation session is equivalent to more than three hours of deep sleep. Nothing could be more necessary for a pregnant woman!
And just like with many essential nutrients and minerals the body needs, magnesium levels can decrease during pregnancy, and magnesium is one of the most important minerals needed for a healthy pregnancy. Medical studies have shown that supplying additional magnesium to the body during pregnancy can help prevent some problems in the baby’s development, and the absorption through the skin that occurs during flotation can be very beneficial.

Anyway, we suggest that you consult with your doctor before making a reservation for flotation.
Although most users describe the float as a sensation of “floating in space” rather than feeling confined, those who suffer from claustrophobia or who may experience some anxiety during their first float can float with the lid open in our very spacious float-tank, with the LED lights simulating a starry sky or the underwater lights on, and can also choose the color and intensity of the room’s lighting. It’s also not mandatory to complete the session if you wish to end it early.
The equipment is very spacious; from the floating position, you can’t touch the dome even by stretching your arms upwards.
Floatation is very safe for the vast majority of people, but it is not recommended for those with skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema (the salts can cause a burning sensation). It is also not recommended for people with kidney failure, as a minimal amount of mineral is absorbed through the skin (beneficial for most), or for those with unhealed wounds, recent tattoos, severe mental health conditions, women during menstruation, and other uncommon conditions (please inquire for more details via WhatsApp).
The equipment accommodates users up to 2 meters tall, with no maximum weight (the heavier you are, the more you float!), although depending on body shape, you might touch the bottom of the unit – please inquire.
We do not recommend it for children under 13 or 14 years old, as they usually get bored, have difficulty staying still for almost an hour, tend to have very sensitive skin, and may experience scrapes or small wounds that can cause a burning sensation from the salts.
Although floating once or sporadically is always productive and enjoyable, it has been shown that regular floating helps maintain low stress levels and improves overall vitality and mood. Frequency determines the duration of the benefits, and with each session, the experience intensifies.
Studies showing a reduction in sleep latency (insomnia) and in anxiety and stress levels have been conducted with patients who floated once a week for three months. Coming to float weekly can help improve various conditions and pathologies.
Benefits

Magnesium sulfate salts have proven anti-inflammatory properties, which, combined with the sensation of zero gravity, without points of support or tension, reduce blood pressure, headaches, and muscle and joint pain. It also helps regulate electrolytes and improve digestive function. This therapy is used by many high-performance athletes to accelerate post-workout muscle recovery and to focus and visualize before competitions, significantly improving their performance.
Floating in our float-tank reduces the activity of the sympathetic nervous system, responsible for releasing the stress hormone cortisol, which triggers the “fight or flight” response. The stress generated by the constant bombardment of stimuli in modern life and hyper-connectivity causes our sympathetic nervous system to be constantly activated.
In the relaxing and tranquil environment of the floatation tank, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, allowing for physical and mental relaxation, stimulation of metabolic processes, and overall recovery.
By removing all external stimuli during the floatation, your mind can focus completely on the “here and now.” High levels of concentration and creativity can be achieved during the sessions, allowing you to analyze and process information like never before.
During floatation, low-frequency brain waves are stimulated, reaching a Theta state, which is associated with deep relaxation, visualization, and creativity. Even beginners can experience extended periods of Theta wave activity during sessions. These are the same waves that appear for a few minutes during the initial stages of sleep. This state is crucial for processing learning, stimulating memory, and enhancing intuition. You can quickly reach states that experienced meditators achieve after years of practice. Everything you experience while floating originates from within, making each experience unique. You’ll leave the float tank with heightened senses and renewed energy!
The benefits of flotation don’t end when you get out of the tank. With less pain and stress, you’ll experience a feeling of relaxation for several days and naturally achieve a better night’s sleep with a deeper, more restful sleep. Several scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of flotation in improving insomnia and chronic stress.
Floating helps release endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine, while also reducing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. It helps you regain energy and vitality and reduces depression. You’ll leave with an improved mood and the positive mind you’ve been seeking!
Several studies confirm flotation as an effective complement to enhance the work in psychology and self-development therapies. Mindfulness, focused on the “here and now,” is enhanced during these sessions.
